Septic Tank Repairs

- by

As you may be aware, this year the clubhouse has been dealing with issues related to the septic leach field. After further investigation it was determined that the perforated pipes in the leach field were inundated with roots. The clubhouse leach field has been replaced and the septic system is back in good working order.

On Tuesday September 24th Kama’aina Construction dug down to the existing leach field piping to find that the roots had inundated the gravel base and the perforations in the pipe to the point that made it unusable. We tied into the existing distribution box and added two additional distribution boxes along with extending out to a new leach field using chambers instead of perforated pipes. The new distribution boxes were placed at the head of two new 24 foot long chambers. The chambers were installed, covered with gravel followed by an agricultural cloth and then back filled with native material (i.e. sand).

The excess sand was used to fill in some of the old volleyball court area. It is loose sand, so until the sand settles and compacts, avoid driving or parking in the area. Depending on your tires, it is recommended not to drive or park in that area because you may get stuck.
