Backpacking in Alaska’s Talkeetna Mountains

In July a bushplane dropped 12 women and their 50 lbs backpacks in the middle of the Talkeetna Mountain range in Alaska. HTMC member Susan Vesel was one of the women in this NOLS wilderness course and will give a photo presentation on the majestic glaciated mountains and sweeping tundra of the Talkeetnas and the challenges of navigating through the Alaskan wilderness 60 miles back to the nearest paved road.
