Public Trails and the Public Trust

Public Access Trails Hawaii (PATH) recently won another lawsuit to open Haleakala Trail, once again granting public access to this trail through Haleakala Ranch. Their lawyer, Mike Biechler (based in Wailua, Oahu) is very passionate about this case and Haleakala Trail. Mike will speak about his experience fighting for access along with sharing his 20-minute drone video of the trail.

Dave Brown, founder of the nonprofit Public Access Trails Hawaii, will join the discussion via zoom from his home on Maui. Dave has been fighting to protect trail access on Maui utilizing the 1892 Highways Act law.
