Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb

Join HTMC Member Betsy Fisher as she shares her experience climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro back in February 2024. Betsy will touch on the incredible beauty of the mountain and people that make these climbs possible, things that surprised her, as well as underpinning cultural, economic, and climate change topics.

Active with HTMC, Betsy Fisher is on the trail maintenance crew, a member of the Board of Directors, and on the Hike Safety Committee. She’s been hiking a lot since retiring from a Professorship in Dance at UHM where she continues to lecture in sustainability-related subjects. Her dance career took her world-wide performing, choreographing, and teaching.

*Michael Tanenbaum will be performing. He is a composer/guitarist of contemplative instrumental music in the style of “Celtic Slack Key”. He creates visual guitar tapestries inspired by film music, Celtic melodies and the power of the land, light and ocean waters of the Hawaiian islands.
