Bangkok to Brussels: A Four Month Voyage of Discovery

Apr 11, 2026

This presentation is a glimpse of 12 countries and life at sea by Paul Meyer, retired photo educator (and fair weather club member), as he sailed for the fourth time with Semester at Sea. The adventure began the day after Christmas 2024 and ended just after Easter 2025. Over 500 college students, 100 staff and faculty, and about 35 Life Long Learners (mostly retirees) sailed from Thailand and stopped for 4-6 days each in Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Morocco, Spain and ending in Germany. (Solo trips were made to Cambodia and Belgium at the beginning and end of the official voyage.) Please come and enjoy this vicarious visual voyage or take a nice nap, but just come.
