Drew & Yuko White

Tell us something about your background?
Drew: I’m a plumber working for the State. I’m a dog lover and dog daddy of 3. I’ve hiked, fished, and camped from my early childhood I’ve lived in Hawaii since 1992, but my family ties here go back to the 40’s. My wife and I recently moved to Oahu in August 2025 after 31 years on the Big Island.

Yuko: Flight attendant for Southwest airlines for 22 years.

What made you want to join HTMC?

Drew: Meet new people, explore Oahu’s trail system

Yuko: Looking for adventure with group to explore the mountains of Oahu

How did you hear about the club?

Drew:Wife found on Google searching for Oahu trails

Yuko: Internet

What’s an interesting fact about you?

Drew: I’m a foodie and love to cook and smoke meat

Yuko: Japanese culutual background, running experience

What’s been your favorite hike you’ve ever been on (either with the club or on your own!)? In Hawaii or elsewhere?

Drew: Mauna Loa Summit Trail and SO MANY trails in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Yuko: Mauna Loa , Aiea Ridge Trail.

What are you most excited about since joining HTMC?

Drew: Learning new trails and meeting new people

Yuko: The club navigates me to places I have never known and they will help me challenge

Is there any additional information that you would like to add? 

Drew: As a licensed plumber, I’d be happy to help members and their family and friends with plumbing work
