2026 Kaiwi Explorations

Join Kaiwi Explorations 2026 on Saturday November 7th or Sunday November 8th to hike the Kaiwi Mauka Lands. On Saturday guided hikes leave every half hour from 6:00am – 8:30am.  On Sunday self guided hikes leave every half hour from 6-8am. If you would like to explore Kaiwi mauka and attend this free hike you must sign up.

HTMC has been a proud supporter of Kaiwi Explorations over the years, many of our members have volunteered as hike guides and we have helped them prepare for this event by clearing and marking the trail.

After almost 50 years of grassroots effort to conserve Kaiwi Coast, in 2017 the community purchased the final threatened undeveloped property to preserve it for community benefit and enjoyment. In 2018, the Kaiwi Coalition celebrated this historic community conservation success with an inaugural hike. By participating in Kaiwi Explorations, you’ll be able to explore this preserved land, discover the natural and cultural resources of the area, and learn about plans for the future.
