Hiking the Tour Mont Blanc

Join HTMC member Keith Mattson for an inspiring evening exploring the legendary Tour du Mont Blanc—a breathtaking long-distance trek that winds through France, Italy, and Switzerland over 9+ unforgettable days.

Having completed the hike in 2024, Keith will share stunning photos, practical tips, and hard-earned resources from the trail—perfect for anyone dreaming of international trekking or simply curious about one of the world’s most iconic alpine routes.

A member of HTMC since 2024, Keith originally joined to train for Mont Blanc and quickly discovered a deep love for hiking on O’ahu. He’s now on the trail two times a week and eager to be more involved with club activities.

About the Tour du Mont Blanc

The Tour du Mont Blanc is a 170 km (105-mile) circuit around the Mont Blanc massif, traversing the Alps through France, Italy, and Switzerland. With approximately 10,000 meters (33,000 ft) of elevation gain, it is one of the most popular long-distance hiking routes in the world. The classic route takes 9 to 11 days and is typically done between late June and mid-September.

*Michael Tanenbaum will be performing. He is a composer/guitarist of contemplative instrumental music in the style of “Celtic Slack Key”. He creates visual guitar tapestries inspired by film music, Celtic melodies and the power of the land, light and ocean waters of the Hawaiian islands.
