Directions
- We are going to start out on the Kalawahine trail which takes us to Pauoa Flats.
- We’ll turn left on Pauoa Flats and hike to the Nu’uanu Lookout where you will see the bench dedicated to Daniel Levey.
- At the lookout, we turn left and head over the ridge, eventually meeting up with the Nu’uanu Trail. You will need to turn right here.
- Up the path you will see another bench dedicated to a fallen hiker at which point you will start heading down to the left.
- After about 15 minutes, the trail will make a 180 degree turn to the right. Instead of making that right you will continue straight.
- Follow that ridge trail to the lunch spot which is along a contour trail under a grove of Ironwood trees and marked by 4+ ribbons.
- After lunch you start heading down into the valley, walking most of the way to the stream along an old irrigation pipe and contour trail.
- After a short hike in the valley you will start heading back up though bamboo, passing over the top of a waterfall and eventually back to the Kalawahine trail.
- Once back on the main trail, turn right which will take you back to this road.
