Trail Description: The slanted stone arch in the beginning of Koko Crater foretells the narrow, rocky path that partly circumnavigates the crater rim to the high point. Wonderful views of the south shore. Descend the old tramway and back to the beginning via the shoreline.*

Hawai’ian name & meaning: Kohelepelepe (vagina labia minor) or common name Koko (blood)
Hawai’ian myth & legends: Pele was attacked by Kama-pua?a. Pele?s sister Kapo sent her vagina to lure away the pig man. He followed it to Koko Crater, O?ahu, where it left an imprint, and then flew off to Kalihi.

Hazards
Steep inclines, steep dropoffs, crumbly rock, narrow sections. Not suitable for those with a fear of heights.
