This hike climbs Kawaewae Ridge above Kaneohe. Along the way are Friendship Gardens, a wide variety of vegetation, steep climbs and descents, slippery spots with ropes, utility towers and a central summit. Open spots along the ridgetop offer satisfying views of Kaneohe Bay and the Kapa’a Quarry.
Kawaewae Ridge is sometimes called Oneawa Hills or Kokokahi Ridge.
