Nate Yuen Fundraiser Event Update
The Yuen Family envisioned the September 2024 Pulama ‘Aina Exhibit at Kahalu’u Gallery and Garden as a way to honor Nate Yuen’s memory and continue his legacy by giving back to the organizations that Nate was involved with and cared about.
The exhibit showcased Nate’s photographs of the ‘Aina. It featured his images from all the islands of Hawai’i; breathtaking landscapes, unique flora & fauna, native plants and trees. Prints were available on metal or canvas and could be ordered in different sizes and preferred materials.
A portion of the profits sold at the exhibit were donated to three organizations that Nate was involved with (Sierra Club Hawaii, Hawai’i Conservation Alliance and Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club). In the middle of October Nate’s brother Joel wrapped up the fundraiser and HTMC received a donation for the total of $5442.08.
Mahalo to all of the HTMC Members who volunteered for three hour shifts at the beautiful gallery grounds sharing information about the club with visitors. For those of us who knew Nate, seeing his photographs brought back fond memories and moments along the trail with Nate. It was gracious of the Yuen family to include HTMC in this fundraiser event and we are grateful for the generous donation.
