It’s been an especially stormy spring, and many HTMC hikes and trail maintenance outings have been cancelled due to the weather (see list below). The Hike Committee will do its best to reschedule these activities—please keep an eye on the website and upcoming hike schedules for updates.

3/15 – Kahekili Hike cancelled

3/15 – Trail Maintenance cancelled

3/21 – Napu’umai’a Hike (rescheduled to 3/28)

3/22 – Tripler Ridge Hike (rescheduled to 4/5)

3/22 – Trail Maintenance cancelled

3/28 – Kuaokala Hike (Security concerns closed Kaena Point Space Force)

3/29 – Trail Maintenance cancelled

4/5 – Kea’au Ridge Hike cancelled

For your safety and to help protect our trails, hiking in extreme wet or windy conditions is not recommended for the following reasons:

  • Increased trail erosion and long-term damage to the landscape
  • Higher risk of landslides and falling debris
  • Danger from falling trees and branches in strong winds
  • Flash flooding in streams, valleys, and low-lying areas
  • Slippery, muddy conditions increasing the risk of injury
  • Limited visibility and rapidly changing weather conditions
  • Keeping roads and access points clear for emergency responders
  • In the event of an emergency, rescuers may be diverted from more critical situations

Reminder: Please always check the website for updates before heading to HTMC Hikes.
