DLNR Helemano Survey Request

In 2018, the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) acquired 2,881 acres in the Halemano area of central O?ahu, now managed as the Halemano Section of the ?Ewa Forest Reserve.

This land, formerly owned by Dole Food Company, Inc., includes conservation and agricultural districts and has been incorporated into the State of Hawai?i’s Forest Reserve System. DLNR’s Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) has partnered with Forest Solutions, Inc. (FSI) to lead the final phase of the Forest Reserve Management Plan.

This phase includes collaboration with Progressive Trail Design (recreation planning) and ASM (Cultural Impact Assessment) to inform a comprehensive management strategy. As part of this effort, we are collecting feedback from active recreation users in the area to inform the draft plan.
