Appreciation Night Overview
On Saturday October 11th HTMC held Appreciation Night at the clubhouse to honor and celebrate its active volunteers. As many of you know, HTMC is an all volunteer run non-profit. We are blessed to have such an active community of hikers who give back to the club. This year we invited over 70 members who have volunteered their time and effort in a variety of tasks including:
- Board Members & Officers
- Committee Chairs & Members
- Hike Coordinators
- Trail Clearers
It was a warm but festive event and included; games, photos, dinner, awards, a slideshow and dessert. Laura Owens led a hilarious musical singing game that brought out the competitive spirit and had everyone laughing. Which was followed by group photos, including members who have been in the club over 20 years and continue to give back!
The dinner menu featured meat & vegetarian chili along with rice and a plethora of delicious toppings.
After we stuffed ourselves we moved upstairs to hand out our new 3″ HTMC stickers and presented awards and ti leaf lei by Myrtle to acknowledge the volunteers who went above and beyond this year (listed below).

For the grand finale we watched a slideshow David Johnson created that featured volunteers in action and enjoyed eating delicious chocolate cake! To those who were able to attend this year’s appreciation night, thank you for coming – if you missed it, know we appreciate you and all our volunteers!
