Pu’u Heleakala

We start at sea level near Nanakuli and climb up and up toward the Wai’anae summit, which we never quite reach. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen for this hot, rocky hike.
A $5 donation is requested for each non-member, age 18 or over.
Cumulative Elevation Gain: 2,200 ft.
Trail Conditions: hot, exposed ridge trail, no shade, narrow trail, sheer drop offs, rocky, rock scrambling and steep.
Trail Features: Spectacular views.

Hawaiian Name Meaning: snare of the sun (the hill blocks the rays of the setting sun)
