12 miles / Advanced / Ridge / Pacific Palisades

All hikers will enjoy this magnificent ridge walk. Beginners can stroll through the level, lower section. Intermediates can turn around at the scenic helipad. Hardcore hikers can head for the summit and a chance at a windward view.

A $5 donation is requested for each non-member, age 18 or over.

Elevation Gain: 3,133

Trail Conditions: Overgrown, Roller Coaster.

Trail Features: Scenic Views, Native Plants.

Trail Route: Out and back.

Native Plants: Koa, Ohia, Uluhe, Kopiko, Loulu, Ohia Hi, Lapalapa.

Moku & Ahupua’a: Ewa & Manana.

Hawaiian Name Meaning: Manana = buoyant.

Historic Information: Member Charlie Nakamura and several friends started clearing the ridge above the Palisades neighborhood in 1965, reaching the Ko’olau summit in 1969.
