The Hau’ula loop provides a light workout on the uphills and pleasant woodsy trails with occasional coastal views. Use caution at the slippery stream crossings.

A $5 donation is requested for each non-member, age 18 or over.

Moku & Ahupua’a: Ko’olauloa & Hau’ula

Hawaiian Name Meaning: Hau’ula literally is ‘red hau tree’ and Papali is ‘little cliff or slope’

Historic Information: In the 1930s the Territorial Forestry built both loop trails to facilitate access to the Hau’ula Forest Reserve for hunters, fence builders and tree planters.
