(5 Mi/Hardy Novice/Contour/Aiea)
See the remains of our native forest including sandalwood, koa, and ohi’a. Learn about the trees that were used to reforest our island, and the plants that have become our worst invasive species. We will stop by the crash site of the B-24-J Liberator bomber. If it is rainy, the trail can be very slick & muddy, so micro spikes are advised. A $3 donation is requested for each non-member, age 18 or over. Coordinator Ken Suzuki, kenjiman@htmc1910.org, or 845-4691.
Meet in the upper parking lot of the Keaiwa Heiau State Recreation Area, which is at the very top of Aiea Heights Drive.
Reservations are required. Limit of 25.
