In July of 2012, Chase led a backpack trek that included Geoff Patterson and Brandon Bukunt through the muck and mire of Wai’ale’ale. A summit camp was set up near the infamous fresh water pond and rain gauge station to create a 2-day 1-night trek over twenty miles. Remember, look for the carved arrow!
