Historic Information: In the early 1930s, before the ‘Aiea loop was created, HTMC ran a variation on the ‘Aiea Ridge hike. Hikers would drop off the ridge into Kalauao valley and return along the stream passing a waterfall and swimming hole. This hike seems to have been neglected as nearby ‘Aiea Loop and ‘Aiea Ridge trails were developed by the CCC. In 1965, HTMC member Richard Booth revived this hike, now descending a side ridge into Kalauao valley and eventually climbing back up to ‘Aiea Loop.
