CANYONEERING HAWAII: EXPLORING THE ISLANDS’ FINAL FRONTIER

5:30PM Potluck, 7PM Presentation, Waimanalo Clubhouse

The technical realm of canyoneering is one of the last viable modalities of human exploration in the terrestrial world and this presentation will introduce the sport and it application to the Islands of Hawai’i.  Canyoneering focuses on narrow canyons, creeks and chasms that have carved spectacular and surreal environments deep into the earth.  Local canyoneers from each of the major islands will be present and will share techniques, stories, and photographs from many never-before-seen environments.  This is a unique opportunity to see how modern day exploration in done in challenging and remote environments.
