November Community Service Opportunity in Nepal

- by

Hello! I’d like to share a recent opportunity that came across my plate from a friend, who signed up but unfortunately is having a baby and will not be able to attend. At the end of October, there is a multi-week community service based trek to Nepal led by a legendary Sherpa named Pemba. Pemba has climbed Everest over 10 times, currently resides in Boulder, and even began a small-batch, authentic Himalayan chai tea compny called Sherpa Chai.

Pemba will lead you through the majestic Himalayan Mountains into the sacred Lumding Valley—a place few Westerners have ever seen. You’ll spend time with his family in the small Sherpa village of Sengma and experience the true culture of the region. As a part of the trek, you will be supporting some of the local communities through projects, going on some incredible hikes, and learning more about Nepalese culture in an intimate experience. This will be a particularly powerful experience in light of the recent flooding events that have impacted the region.

If you’re interested, please reach out directly to me at ander.thompson11@gmail.com and I can put you in touch with the coordination team for the opportunity. There are two spots available if you’re interested in one or both, and potentially a discount of pricing based on my friends situation.
