HTMC New Members Introductions

We would like to welcome our new members to the club with a warm aloha! In an effort to get to know our new members a little better, the board introduced an initiative for new members have the opportunity to share a bit about themselves and be featured in a newsletter article. I live in Canada. Where I live there isn’t much hiking therefore I enjoy the beauty of hiking in Oahu!

Tell us something about your background?
Been hiking since a small child. Hiked and trail cleared with HTMC in the early 1990’s thanks to Mabel Kekina and very glad to be back! Never stopped hiking!

I have worked over 50 jobs, I’m a professional musician playing local and reggae music.

More regular high quality hiking

Do you have a hiking nickname?
I was given- Rainbow Warrior , but you can call me sara
2x naked and afraid survivalist, wilderness survival guide, therapist in training. retired comedian and circus performer, current youtuber (outdoor videos!)
What made you want to join HTMC?
I delight in ‘nature people’. I hoped to find like minded people after spending half my life off island.

What’s been your favorite hike you’ve ever been on (either with the club or on your own!)? In Hawaii or elsewhere?
I’ve traveled to around 30 countries, yet big island hikes are still my favorite. Can’t beat home!
What are you most excited about since joining HTMC?
Connecting to the community through shares interests, and if I’m lucky- finding someone to geek out on outdoor video creation with me!
Is there anything additional that you would like to add?
I’d love to share some of my skills and host a free workshop on wilderness survival basics
