Pu’u Ma’eli’eli

This is a novice hike with intermediate hill-climbing and a rooty section that will be slippery if wet. This hike in the windward Ko’olau foothills provides nice views of the coastline on one side, and the fluted Ko’olau wall on the other. This route was pioneered by Dayle & Jacque Turner.

Oahu traffic advisory on Aug. 21, 2023: As a reminder to motorists, the H-3 Freeway in both directions will be shut down from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, as Hawaiian Electric crews and state contractors permanently relocate a pole anchor.
